TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — Troy University will be canceling all in-person instruction due to Hurricane Sally’s potential impact on the university’s campuses.

In-person classes will disband at 5 p.m. Tuesday but will return Friday morning, if weather permits. Online classes shall continue.

Campuses will stay open, allowing on-campus students to shelter in place. Dining facilities, the university police, and other staff will remain available for students who need them

“We encourage all students, faculty and staff to monitor weather conditions and be alert for rapidly changing conditions,” a university release states. “All students and employees are encouraged to ensure that they have set up their accounts to receive emergency notifications via SMS (text messaging) by visiting sos.troy.edu and selecting the Login link.”

There will be no consequences for students or employees will not be penalized if they cannot be present due to weather conditions.

“Employees should coordinate with their supervisors if they are unable to safely report to work,” the release states.
