DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Authorities responded to a call on Fortner Street where authorities arrived on the scene they found Jose Rosales Jr. unresponsive back in August 2015.
The toddler was rushed to Flowers Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“The physicians and medical staff at the hospital, they noticed a lot of bruising,” Houston County District Attorney Pat Jones said. “He said the child had blunt force trauma to the torso, head, legs and especially the left side of his face.”
Jose Rosales, Sr. was charged with causing the death of his son by blunt force trauma to the head.
At the time of the trial, Gena Redden, the mother of Jose Roales Jr., admitted to using drugs.
Rosales’ trial is scheduled to last all week.
