EUFAULA, Ala. (WDHN) — The city of Eufaula saw its own share of violence over the weekend as two different shootings left a total of three people suffering gunshots, according to releases from the police department.
Officers responded to the first shooting, which took place at a graduation party, at around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. In this one, multiple shots were fired, leaving two people injured.
By the time authorities arrived, Christopher Dylan Dennard, 18, of Fort Michell and Kevarus Kemion Washington, 18, of Dothan were taken to Medical Center Barbour in a private vehicle.
Dennard was shot in the chest, but the wound was not serious enough to kill him, according to police. Meanwhile, Washington was treated for a gunshot wound to the right hand.
However, it didn’t end there for the Eufaula Police Department as another shooting happened later on in the day.
At 8:57 p.m., officers responded to a call on the 200 block of West Davis Street, finding a man suffering from three gunshot wounds to his lower body.
Eufaula Fire and Rescue took John Charles Peterson, 41, of Eufaula to Medical Center Barbour. Per the latest from police, his condition is unknown.
Patrol officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Davis Street at 2057hrs Saturday night in reference to a male with gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, officers found John Charles Peterson, 41, of Eufaula with three gunshots wounds to his lower body. Eufaula Fire and Rescue responded and transported Peterson to Medical Center Barbour for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.
