“The Ark” burglarized, again

Local News

A Dothan Police Officer looks through shattered glass early Sunday morning after the downtown thrift store was burglarized again.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — “The Ark” is a faith-based organization looking to provide help for the Dothan area’s less fortunate, but on multiple occasions the organization has been hit by burglars looking to take even more.

Such was the case early Sunday morning. A WDHN viewer sent in a tip that DPD was on scene looking through shattered glass at the front of the facility. This was in the 2:00 AM hour of Sunday. A large window was shattered setting off the security alarm at the building.

“The Ark Thrift Store” Facebook page posted photos of the criminal breaking and attempting to enter the store. Something scared the criminal away before committing further crimes.

The Ark Thrift Store is located downtown across from First Baptist Church in a former PayLess Shoes building. This is the second burglary of the charitable organization since late October.
