DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan police have released more details on the robbery at the Andrews Bridal location on Montgomery Highway, including sketches of the suspect.

Dothan police arrived at the scene at around 12:30 p.m. Monday, where they learned from a female employee that a black man wearing a dark shirt, dark pants and a baseball cap had robbed the store at gunpoint.

He had reportedly entered the building to ask about a tuxedo but then punched the employee in the side of the head, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her.

The thief then took “an undisclosed amount of cash from the register” and took the woman to the back of the store, where he forced her to lay on the ground.

“The male then removed some of her clothing and began touching her inappropriately,” a release from the Dothan Police Department states. “At this point, customers began showing up to the store and the male exited the rear door.”

Witnesses saw him escape in a small, maroon SUV. After officers met with the employee, she was taken to Southeast Health to get treated for some minor injuries.

Police are asking for help in finding the suspect and have released the following physical description of the suspect:

The employee stated that a black male wearing a dark shirt and dark pants also wearing a ball cap entered the business and inquired about a tuxedo. The male was described as being between 25 – 30 years old, between 5’5″ and 5’9″ tall and weighing between 170-180 pounds.

If you know anything about this suspect or the crime, the Dothan Police Department asks that you call 334-615-3000 or CrimeStoppers at 334-793-7000.
