ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — A group of young people did its part to salute veterans in the western Wiregrass.

Two dozen Wiregrass home school Junior Civitan members placed more than 300 American flags on the graves of veterans at the Enterprise City Cemetery on North Main Street. This memorial holiday weekend volunteers will place flags at veteran graves in more than a dozen in Coffee County cemeteries.

“I think it’s wonderful,” Hannah Jo Wriston said. “My father’s a veteran so I really love the respect that we are putting out here for them, and I’m so thankful we have hope, and I’m really enjoying this.”

This weekend hundreds of American flags will be placed on veteran graves at the Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise. At 10 a.m. Monday, a Memorial Day service will be held there.
