SLOCOMB, Ala. (WDHN) — Although we have our hands full with high school football right now, basketball season is right around the corner.
The Slocomb Red Tops will start their basketball practices on Monday. Although there’s tons of excitement, COVID-19 is still relevant, which means they must take precautions during practice such as cleaning benches and basketballs and players will not share water bottles.
Slocomb Principal B.T. Hinson said they have their plans finalized for game nights too.
“For games, we’ll have limited capacity,” Hinson said. “That limited capacity will vary obviously because if you have early games in the day, we have spectators who are leaving we will try to track that so we can sell those tickets back later on. We just want to be able to maximize the ability for our fans and our parents so they can watch their kids play.”
Masks and social distancing are still in effect for the season.
