ELBA, Ala. (WDHN) — Twenty years ago this month, then Alabama Governor Don Siegelman announced a plan to expand to four-lane Highway 84 from Andalusia to the Georgia State line.
A section of the Elba Bypass opened to four-lane traffic this week. Police Chief Leslie Hussey reminded the public of the change going into the Memorial Holiday weekend.
“It is a real pain for people to get used to the changes, the new turn-lanes and stop signs,” Hussey said.
Chief Hussey reminded the motoring public to slow down. Elba police will be working traffic during the three-day Memorial Day weekend.
