OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dale County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens of an imposter who is trying to scam people out of their money.
The sheriff’s office said that the scammer is pretending to be DCSO Investigator Crawford and is saying that there are active arrests warrants out for his victims.
The fake Crawford will say he will conduct an “over-the-phone arrest” and have the victim detained if they don’t send him money by wire
“Although we have a Lt. Crawford employed he is not the individual calling you,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook. “We will never call and ask you to send money. Please do not provide this individual with any personal information or money.”
According to the DCSO, numerous called have been made about this imposter.
