Samson, Ala. (WDHN)—Samson Police Chief Jimmy Hill says it’s a miracle no one was seriously injured or worse.

On Friday night, a “barrage of gunfire” took place in the parking lot of the Brunson Apartments off Virginia Street.

18-year-old Brian Silas, Jr. of Samson allegedly fired a half-dozen shots from a .38 caliber revolver
at a car that drove into the complex.

The vehicle occupants ranged in age from 11-to-17-years-old.

The majority were students at either Samson Middle or High school.

One bullet burst through the glass and injured one of the minors’.

Chief Hill says an argument over a girl prompted the shooting.

Silas now faces an attempted murder charge and three counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Chief Hill expects additional charges to be filed.

Silas faces an unrelated “assault charge” on an elderly person from earlier this year.
