Sales tax revenue up for city of Dothan

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Sales tax numbers are in, and the city of Dothan is doing pretty well.

Sales tax for the month of July sales exceeded budget and last year’s amount.

According to finance director Lisa Reeder, they’ve not been affected by the pandemic.

She said cautious budgeting has helped.

“Even with the COVID, we are still 7.1 million dollars over budget, and year to date, we have exceeded last years numbers just under $100,000,” Reeder said.

Reeders said this year’s budget will help the city complete projects they weren’t sure they would get to do.
