DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The pandemic has affected many businesses including the dry cleaning industry.

With people staying at home and a loss of jobs, fewer people are getting their clothes professionally cleaned.

Dan Dean, owner of Village Cleaners, said it’s been a horrible experience.

“It’s just the stay-at-home orders, the shutting down of America, the fact that businesses all are doing it from home,” Dean said. “And they’re doing it virtually online, and they’re not bringing their clothes to the cleaners because they’re not dressing for success anymore.”

Dean said he’s thankful for his employees who continue is hopeful for a better year.
