DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Two Florida residents have been charged with allegedly robbing and shooting a check-cashing business on the 1100 block of North Alice Street, according to the Dothan Police Department.

A DPD release said Deshone Elesquial Donald, 31, and Fredrick Carl Ricks, 28, of Quincy, Florida, robbed the business on July 7. Employees said Donald entered the business with a surgical mask and demanded money at gunpoint, shooting at three employees at the back of the business.

As he fled, Donald then fired again at the employee behind the counter. However, he missed every time, leaving the employees unharmed.

Police identified Donald as the suspect as he was in the business 10 minutes before the robbery while cashing a check but failed to do so.

Three days later, the U.S. Marshal’s Service Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force found Donald and Ricks, his getaway driver, in Quincy.

Donald has been charged with four counts of attempted murder and one count of robbery. He is being held without a bond.

Ricks is charged with one count of first-degree robbery and has a bond of $10,000.
