Police still looks for leads in pair of homicides

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Two weeks ago, two homicides happened on the same day in Dothan.

One of them occurred on Woodham Road, the other on Greenwood Drive.

Dothan police are still looking for the suspects.

“We are in the same boat as Woodham Road,” Investigator Morgan King said. “We are just still following every lead, every tip we get we follow-up on, and just talking with people, canvassing the area (and) trying to find any kind of lead that can help in solving the crime.”

Some people never thought stuff like this would happen in Dothan.

The murders have shocked the community and left some people feeling uneasy.

“Just hearing about the murders from a couple of weeks ago, my mind is just absolutely blown,” citizen Lisa Lee said.

Police said they have a couple of leads on the suspects in both shootings.

The one on Greenwood Drive involved a man in a jumpsuit and Halloween mask.

Authorities returned to Woodham Road just two weeks after they found Rodney Caliste outside of his house with a single gunshot wound in the head.

According to authorities, a gun was recovered during the initial investigation.

Those with information on what happened are asked to call the police.

“If you call the regular 793-0215, they can get you ahold of us or Crimestoppers to make a tip,” King said

Citizens in Dothan want the families of these victims to know they have their support.

“Astounded at this point in time, and I really hope that they catch the people that have done this, and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families,” Lee said.
