Police: Fairfield Inn shooter will pay SWAT team bill if convicted

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The man allegedly behind the weekend chaos at Dothan’s Marriott Fairfield Inn will very likely get to the foot the bill for the ordeal if he’s convicted.

According to Dothan police, Tyshawn Fearrington shot a woman on the third floor during a domestic dispute.

The Dothan Police SWAT team was called to the hotel to make entry, and police Chief Steve Parrish said when the SWAT team is called, the expenses can pile up quickly.

Fearrington will likely get to pay that cost back to the city of Dothan in the form of restitution if he is convicted.

The swat team, on average, rolls about four times a year.

They are chosen by weapons qualifications scores, physical agility requirements and longevity with the department.
