Police: Enterprise man arrested after firing gun, robbing a bicyclist

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Enterprise police arrested a man after he fled the scene of an accident and robbed a cyclist Wednesday, according to an EPD release.

Around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Sanders Street for a crash in which the driver fled the scene. While searching for the driver, Enterprise resident Maurice Andre Harris, officers were told by 911 callers that Harris was firing gunshots down the street.

According to the Enterprise Police Department, the 27-year-old attacked a bicyclist and stole his bike to get away. Officers later chased him on foot and arrested him.

The victim was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Harris now faces a first-degree robbery and is in the Coffee County Jail.
