Coffee County, Ala. (WDHN)—Life-long Coffee County residents say they’ve never seen such “gridlock” traffic.
Saturday, the Pilgrim’s Poultry plant in the Battens Crossroads Community on County Road 636 offered 40-pound chicken boxes at greatly “reduced prices”.
Thousands of people waited in their vehicles for three or more hours.
Law enforcement having to re-direct vehicles off the roadway.
In a news release to WDHN, a Pilgrim spokesman said they sold more than 120 thousand pounds of chicken at reduced rates for people who needed it the most.
