PHOTOS: Henry County home ravaged by Sunday night storms

Local News

TUMBLETON, Ala. (WDHN) — Photos show the damage seen in the Tumbleton area of Henry County after Sunday’s overnight storms.

In this group of photos sent in by a viewer, one can see how a house, owned by a “Mr. Smith,” was ravaged by the heavy winds. Much of the roof was ripped off the house, and it appears a portion even broke off and landed on top of a vehicle.

Meanwhile, another building appears to have been heavily damaged with its roof torn off and its awnings ripped of the windows.

Henry County was hit particularly hard by storms — suffering one fatality from the storms after a mobile home rolled onto its owner, Haleburg man Jerry Oliver Williams.

We’ll have more coverage on the damage in this county in our evening newscast.
