DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The owner of the pit bulls that caused the deaths of 29 cats at the Dothan Animal Shelter has been arrested.
Kenneth Bernard Hamilton, 58, was taken in by Dothan police Tuesday and was charged with four counts of “dog at large.”
Hamilton’s two pit bulls slaughtered the cats after being taken to the Dothan Animal Shelter by Animal Control and breaking out of their pen last week.
Dog at large charges are misdemeanors that carry $20-$50 fines when convicted.
