BONIFAY, Fla. (WDHN) — Bonifay police are investigating the death of a one-year-old boy after finding his body lying in a puddle of rainwater.
The boy was reported missing from a home on South Oklahoma Street at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday before he was found dead in a foot-deep puddle.
Officers tried to save the boy with CPR and had him taken to Doctor’s Memorial Hospital. However, the child was eventually pronounced dead at 11:13 am.
Currently, the BPD, Florida Department of Children and Families, and the 14th Judicial Circuit Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the case.
When we reached out to the police department Wednesday, they told us that the chief was in Panama City for an autopsy. They did not confirm that this was the autopsy for this case, which was slated to be in Panama City on Wednesday morning.
