Enterprise, Ala. (WDHN)—Work is expected to begin on one of Enterprise’s largest water improvement projects ever.
Enterprise Water Superintendent Alan Mahan says “well number four” and its
half-million gallon tower serves nearly a third of the city’s 17-thousand water customers.

Built-in the early-1960’s on the city’s “northside”, plans are now to replace it with
a million-and-a-half gallon tower. In the last 20-years, the area has seen exponential business and
residential growth.

Mahan says “With the larger tank and more capacity of the well we are very excited about this project, it’s going to be a big project that
Will go on for two, two-and-a-half years. Four things we strive for with the water department. Making sure we have water for industry growth, residential growth and make
Sure we always have water.”

The new well and tower will be built close to the current site. The total price of the project
is expected to be around three million dollars.

Groundbreaking will take place either late Summer or early Fall.
