DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Since reopening, Dothan City Schools has done everything they can to keep students and their staff safe during COVID-19.
In doing this, they have added new nursing liasion Heather Johnson who said this role has been an adjustment for her.
Prior to coming in September, she worked with COVID-19 patients so this transition was smooth as she says.
Johnson handles all COVID-19-related issues that come up in the school system. Nurses call Johnson for guidance.
“We’re just hoping to keep the systems open and keep the kids as comfortable and as safe as possible,” she said. “The kids need the consistency and the stability, and that’s what we’re here for through this pandemic. That’s what I’m here for.”
Johnson said she loves her new role and will continue to keep kids safe.
