More than $200 million’s worth of helicopter hull to be constructed in Troy plant

TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded the MH-60T contract to Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky facility in troy.

The more than $200 million award will provide 25 new hulls for the coast guard’s MH-60T aircraft and will allow those lifesaving helicopters to be flown for at least 10 more years.

According to Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby, that will increase the workforce in Troy, where those helicopters are maintained and repaired.
