Midland City residents making it through the rain

Local News

MIDLAND, Ala. (WDHN) — In Midland City, many residents are dealing with downed trees and branches covering the roadways.

The rain and wind continued to pick up as the streets filled with debris and lots of water.

Power outages were another major concern as the wind grew stronger.

Resident Tracie Beatey was worried because she lives right by a tree.

“Trees and the power lines and them actually falling I’m a little scared, little nervous, but I just wanna say be careful and watch out,” Beatey said.

“To be honest we just staying in, we slept right through it last night,” Dontrell Underwood said.

Underwood says he’s concerned about the trees near his home but thinks he’ll be fine as long as he stays inside.

Officials say everyone needs to stay inside and stay off the roads
