COWARTS, Ala. (WDHN) — The Houston County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Midland City man Thursday for an armed robbery at a Cowarts Dollar General.
At around 9:54 p.m. Sunday, an armed gunman held up the Dollar General, even shooting at an employee four times who ran away to safety. The suspect then ran away.
Following a joint investigation with the Dale County Sheriff’s Office, Dothan police, and Headland police, authorities were led to a home in Midland City. Upon searching the home, investigators found evidence that suggested that Andrew Cornelius Harris, 21, was involved in the robbery.

The HCSO arrested Harris at around 3:00 a.m. Thursday. He is now in the Houston County Jail on a first-degree robbery charge.
The sheriff’s office said Harris also has unrelated charges in Dale County and may have more charges in other jurisdictions.
The robbery is still under investigation.
