The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for the man who fled from a traffic stop on June 22.
John Jared Ryan Mixon, 23, remains at large over 24 hours after he fled from police and into a nearby woodline Monday evening.
According to police, Mixon was wanted on a felony warrant for aggravated battery at the time of the attempted stop. He now faces additional charges for fleeing and eluding with disregard for public safety, driving while license suspended or revoked (knowingly), attaching tag not assigned, and no vehicle registration.

GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man wanted for fleeing a traffic stop on Joy Meadows Circle.
According to authorities, John Jared Ryan Mixon, 23, fled from police during a stop northbound into Alabama, drove away, and later came to another stop near County Road 4 where he fled into a nearby woodline.
Police have been searching since around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon. Several agencies are on the scene including K-9 tracking teams with Northwest Florida Reception Center and Holmes Correctional Institution as well as the Geneva County Sheriff’s Office.
