ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — The Enterprise Police Department has arrested a Florida man in a rape that happened in July.
According to an EPD release, a woman reported to police on July 26 that she was attacked at a motel in Enterprise the night before.
Three days later, investigators got arrest warrants on their suspect, Cody Matthew Schaffer of Bristol, Florida.
On Aug. 12, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office contacted Enterprise detectives, saying that the 28-year-old suspect had been charged in their jurisdiction on a fugitive from justice charge.
This past Thursday, Schaffer was extradited back to Coffee County, where he now faces charges for first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, and third-degree theft of property. As of this report, he has no bond.
