GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — Early next year, north Geneva County Road 49 that goes through Malvern will be soon be resurfaced and re-worked.
It’ll involve new drainage lines, treatments along with new asphalt and striping.
It carries an $800,000 price tag and is the largest investment in that eastern Geneva County town for several decades.
“People tracking commerce through the county from Slocomb or whether it be from Florida that are using this highway,” Geneva County Commissioner Weston Spivey said. “This is gonna be the greatest economic investment Malvern has ever had.”
Spivey said this will also be an economic shot-in-the-arm for local businesses like Aplin Farms
