Main Street crash backs up traffic, causes moderate injuries

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Traffic was backed up for what appeared to be at least a mile after a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

The wreck happened around 8:30 a.m. after a Wiregrass Petroleum truck hit a pickup that was pulling a trailer. According to an alert, it caused moderate injuries.

Police officers directed drivers off the main road into the parking lot of the Battery Guyz business on the corner of South Cherokee and Main Street while a cleanup crew tried to remove the vehicles.

The intersection was partially cleared shortly after 9:00 a.m., which allowed traffic to move more freely.
