The Dothan City School Department released a plan Tuesday for the upcoming school year that begins in August.
This plan added that although it is strongly reccommended, students are not required to wear masks.
Pediatrician Jeff Tamburin expressed his concern for students.
“A majority of the students, they need to wear their masks.” Dr. Tamburin said. “Studies have shown it decreases the transmission rate as well as the chance that you get it. So, while it’s not required, the strong recommendation to wear it, parents need to really heed that.”
Dr. Tamburin also warned against touching your face and suggested students carry hand sanitizer.
