Local cities, counties close buildings amid inclement weather

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Several municipalities and county governments have decided to close down their buildings amid severe weather.

Here are is an active list of areas that have closed their public buildings:

Dothan

The City of Dothan will close its offices at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, but all essential services will continue.

If you are a Dothan Utilities customer and have an outage, call 615-3302 and respond to the automated prompts.

Houston County

The commission has closed the courthouse, probate and revenue commission buildings, and all other county buildings this Wednesday.

Houston County Health Department will close Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. It is expected to reopen Friday morning at 8:00 a.m.

Enterprise

All public buildings including the city hall are closed until 10 a.m. Thursday.

Coffee County

All county buildings will close Wednesday at noon. All county services will resume with exception of the Elba Courthouse.

Ozark

City Hall is closed non-essential functions Wednesday.

The library will close at 2 p.m. Wednesday and will reopen at 10 a.m. Friday.

Headland

Headland’s municipal complex is closed Wednesday.

Elba

Elba City Hall, Elba Municipal Court, Elba Public Library, Elba Senior Center, Elba Chamber of Commerce will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.

Holmes County

All county buildings will be closed until Thursday.
