Panama City Beach, FL, ALA (WDHN)— Labor Day Weekend is wrapping up and local businesses are happy to see tourists once again on Panama City Beach.
One business owner says about 100-thousand folks came to enjoy the “World’s Most Beautiful Beaches” on the
last big weekend of the 2020 summer tourist season.
For one restaurant owner, he could only seat about 50-percent of capacity due to the pandemic.
But, there were long lines of customers waiting for tables. But, there was “no” Spring with
people afraid of the virus, and the government clamping down on businesses.
Kerry Hanson is the Manager of Mr. B.G.’s Diner says “business been very good. This morning very, very busy. One of our busiest of the season. People looking to get out.”
The operator of scooter rental, Caleb Brooks, says “it was probably the busiest weekend they’ve seen in years.”
Goofy Golf opened on Panama City Beach back in 1969. Once again COVID, crippled profits’ this year.
But during the Labor Day Weekend, it seems folks came back in force to compete on carpet golf.
With the difficulties created by the pandemic, local officials and businesses hope that the 2021 tourist
season. That starts with College Spring Break in March will bring folks’ down to the pristine waters,
and sugar-white sands of the Gulf Coast.
