Kinsey town council discussed financial woes

Local News

KINSEY, Ala. (WDHN) — The town of Kinsey held its monthly council meeting Thursday.

Residents are still concerned with the financial status of the town and the question still remains where is the “agreed-upon procedure report.

On Aug. 12, a letter was sent to Mayor Douglas from the law office of Gregory B. Mccain’s office requesting the “agreed-upon procedure report.” In today’s council meeting, the same question was brought up.

“You told WDHN that you were going to make the procedure report available to the public and you went into executive session the next week – you came out and told the reporter you were going to refuse yourself because it had something to do with your ex-wife, ” Tommy Ferguson said.”In the meantime, we requested upon the Freedom of Information Act a copy of it.

Mayor Pro Tem Joe Watson told WDHN they were instructed by the city’s attorney not to release the report because of an investigation.
