Amanda Gail Oakes has pleaded to chemical endangerment and manslaughter in the case of her baby’s death.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The trial for the woman accused of leaving her dead baby in a freezer at the Intown Suites on the Ross Clark Circle is expected to begin this week.
Amanda Gail Oakes is charged with manslaughter abuse of a corpse and felony endangerment of a child after authorities discovered her six-month-old baby Curtis James Oakes inside of a freezer at the Intown Suites.
Oakes and the child’s father Carlton Mathis were arrested last year.
According to investigators, she and Mathis were using illegal drugs at the time of the child’s death.
Mathis is charged with manslaughter and abuse of a corpse.
