HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan-Houston County EMA didn’t get a break Wednesday due to now Tropical Storm Sally.
Throughout the day, they dealt with flash flooding, power outages, and even some downed trees.
EMA Deputy Director Leigh Martin explained what Houston County citizens should expect for the near future.
“Okay so over the next couple hours what we’re looking at is for the rain to continue, for the winds to increase some as we move through the duration of the storm,” Martin said. “So what we’re going to be looking at is not necessarily trees coming down because of the wind but because of the ground saturation that is already occurring.”
“It’s going to be raining throughout the night and hopefully we’ll see a lot of this dissipate and hopefully move on out tomorrow,” Martin added.
