Dale County Schools delays opening after new guidance

UPDATE:

The Dale County Board of Education has issued a new reopening date after receiving new guidance from the Alabama Department of Public Health.

The district will reopen for traditional instruction on Aug. 14.

ORIGINAL REPORT:

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Houston County Superintendent David Sewell is set to recommend that the board vote to push the district’s reopening date to Sept. 8.

Sewell will make the recommendation in next Monday’s school board meeting. This comes as other local schools are also pushing their school dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    • August 28

    • Sept. 8
