Houston County republicans preparing for election season

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Houston County Republican Headquarters opened on Bel Air Drive Thursday morning.

It will be used through the general elections in November and by the Tommy Tuberville and Barry Moore campaigns.

Organizers said it took a lot of effort to put together.

“It takes a group of dedicated people to setup, to order supplies, to order t-shirts, hats, all the things we have for donations,” Houston County Republican Women president Barbara Wheelless said. “Yard signs, just about anything that pertains to the election.”

This is a place where people who aren’t familiar with the Republican Party or candidates can learn more, or help the campaigns by purchasing t-shirts, signs, and hats.

It will also act as a headquarters to organize volunteers, and the place people can sign up to volunteer.

As a part of the opening, both the Tuberville and Moore campaigns received donations of $1000.

The Moore campaign is looking forward to using it.

“I will probably even have sometime to man and stop in to see everybody along with staff,” District 2 Congressional candidate Barry Moore said. “It’s a process for us to just to work when we’re in that community.”

Wheelless said they need everyone they can get for election season.
