DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Houston County Sheriff’s Office is coming together to help one of its own.
Deputy Jonathan Berry is currently in his second battle with cancer in less than a year.
That’s why the sheriff’s office is selling Boston butts to help with Berry’s medical costs. The deadline for pre-sales is Dec. 8.
The butts are $25, but for $30, you will be entered to win a handmade cooler.
“Deputy Berry is a great deputy,” Sgt. Ricky Herring said. “He works hard, … and he’s in his second battle with cancer, and we’re trying to do what we can to help Deputy Berry, and our philosophy around the Houston County Sheriff’s Office is, ‘It’s not what others can do for us; it’s what we can do for others.'”
If you purchase a Boston butt, you’ll be able to pick them up on Dec. 20 and 21 at the Outpost on Ross Clark Circle.
