DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Wiregrass 2-1-1 is asking residents for assistance in helping out the local homeless population.
On May 4, the Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH) and Comcast will hold an event in 2-1-1’s back parking lot called Homeless Connect, delivering personal care items and meals to homeless individuals from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
To pull this off, volunteers will be needed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. to help organize the food and supplies into packages for delivery. From that point, volunteers will be needed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. make the deliveries to the local homeless areas and camps.
Those interested in volunteering are asked to go to “the Covan trailer in the back parking lot at Wiregrass 2-1-1, 545 West Main St., Suite 313 in Dothan.”
The event will also need help meeting the demand for supplies so Wiregrass 2-1-1 will be accepting donations from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until May 3.
