Headland Police Department makes changes to the dispatch center

HEADLAND, Ala. (WDHN) — Headland Police Chief Mark Jones and his officers were busy moving furniture and electronic equipment Thursday morning.

The department’s communication center is undergoing a makeover with new furniture and a redesign for efficiency to maintain continual E911 service. Each of the three computer stations is temporarily being moved separately.

If a problem occurred, the Abbeville Police Department would temporarily take over Headland’s E-911 police dispatch.

“We will never go down,” Jones said. “We’re still answering calls.”

Jones expects the entire transformation of his communication center to be completed by early next week.
