Hartford Municipal Election turnout on Tuesday

Local News

Hartford, Ala (WDHN)—A voter at the Johnny Hughes Community Center told WDHN News that voting has been light.

One reason could be because of COVID-19.

Last week, former Hartford Mayor Eria Sorrells died from the virus.

Today, there are a few candidates who are currently recovering from the coronavirus.

For one family, the possibility of catching the disease almost kept them from casting a ballot.

In the Hartford mayoral race, incumbent Mayor Wendel Nolen is facing Neil Strickland.
