Half-million-dollar home catches fire in Dothan

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A half-million-dollar home had flames rising 30 feet or higher into the night sky Thursday.

However, a couple of things happened here to benefit the house. First, it was not occupied.

Second, the fire happened in a garage area on the back of the house so the major portions of the structure did not appear to be significantly damaged.

Dothan firefighters had a tough time getting in the structure, fighting the fire in defensive mode for a lengthy time.

The house is currently for sale. A listing on the app Zillow prices it at $500 thousand.
