Habitat ReStore in the process of receiving a new roof

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Habitat’s ReStore is getting a new roof thanks to local fundraising efforts.

After Hurricane Michael swept through the Wiregrass, it was only a matter of time before the roof began to leak. With a leaking roof, it could possibly impact the shopper’s experience.

Members of the men’s Group Knights of Columbus at St. Columbia Catholic Church raised $25,000 of the $65,000 needed to replace the roof.

“We are very fortunate the Knights of Columbus and the Leadership Dothan class number 37 raised enough money that we didn’t have to use some of our own money,” Executive Director Donna Clemmons said.

A leadership Dothan class donated $17,000 to assist the project along with the Habitat who provided the remaining $23,000.

The store should receive a new roof by the end of the month.
