Grant given to boost AL state trooper patrols in problem areas

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WDHN) — You may see a few more state troopers on the road thanks to new grants from Governor Kay Ivey.

$1.2 million will be given to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to increase patrols and give overtime to currently employed troopers.

These resources will help sort out problem areas known for drunk driving and speeding.

Ivey also gave $165,405 to help train officers and district attorneys on current traffic safety laws.
