GORDON, Ala. (WDHN) — The citizens in Gordon wanted a change, and that’s exactly what they got in yesterday’s meeting.

Mayor pro-tem Shana Ray gave up her seat as a commissioner and stepped into her new role as the mayor of Gordon. For two residents they said they are excited to see what Ray has in store.

‘I think things will turn out really good I know that we have not been done are being to being to get done it’s moving forward.” Reba Emfinger said.

Both ladies said they hope having a female in power will encourage the younger women in the town.

“I always like to see women getting roles that I know they are capable of fulfilling with intelligence and strength and compassion,” Donna Holsonback said.
