HARTFORD, Ala. (WDHN) — A Hartford man is behind bars, charged with manslaughter stemming from Sunday night’s fatal three-vehicle wreck near the Florida-Alabama state line.
James Brown was driving a Ford f-150 pick-up truck when he crossed the center-line of State Highway 167 and hit a Honda Accord driven by Marie Prescott, also of Hartford.
Alabama state troopers say the impact caused the 48-year-old woman’s vehicle to go into the path of an 18-wheeler. Prescott was killed.
Geneva County Sheriff Office officials say Brown left the scene but was later arrested at his house.
He’s being held at the Geneva County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
