HARTFORD, Ala. (WDHN) — Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded $670,000 to add turn lanes at the intersection of State Highway 52 and Geneva County Road 69 in Hartford.
It’s been the site of numerous accidents and fatalities over the years. It is where the Highway 52 four-lane section turns back into two lanes when leaving Hartford.
Eighteen-wheelers often use the intersection, which intensifies the danger.
The Geneva County intersection is one of only 28 state projects to be awarded funds by the governor’s office for this fiscal year. Work is expected to get underway by next spring or summer.
