FORT RUCKER, Ala. (WDHN) — Fort Rucker made another change in command recently
Friday, they welcomed a new United States Army Garrison commander.
Members of the Fort Rucker community gathered to say their goodbyes to outgoing Commander Brian E. Walsh.
“Whitney and Melissa, congratulations on taking command,” Walsh said. “Best of wishes from the United States Army. You are certainly a good fit, and you’re in good hands, and you will have a great time. Thank you and good luck.”
Ready and committed, Col. Whitney B. Gardner will step into the incoming commander position.
“After serving directly under General Francis for the past year and knowing how critical the mission is here at Fort Rucker, and how critical it is to meet our army readiness goals within the next two years,” Gardner said. “I’m thrilled to start this next chapter in two years I look forward to standing here and telling you as we a small garrison were instrumental in setting the conditions for the future.”
