DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The United States Food and Shelter program has given its yearly grants to many of our Wiregrass counties.
This funding, which moves to many agencies that affiliate with the united way, helps people with basic needs.
“You know, we like to say at the United Way,” area manager Mindy Collier said. “It’s a hand up, not a handout. Sometimes people just need a little bit of help for, you know, with their rent just to get through the next month, and then they can manage on their own.”
The money will be distributed to people and agencies in the up coming days and weeks.
