(WDHN) — June kicks off the season for many Farmers Markets in the Wiregrass.
Enterprise’s Farmers Market has been in full swing for a couple of weeks now. The market is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 7-11 a.m.
In addition to the Enterprise Farmers Market being open, Headland’s tenth annual Farmers Market is taking place also. Headland held their first one May 29th and produced a great turnout.
Headland’s is located on the square with about ten vendors serving a variety of produce. The market is open on Fridays from 3-7 p.m.
Farmers market director Jimmy Jones says Headland has the produce to make you come out and shop in the midst of the coronavirus.
“The Headland’s farmers market got the freshest supply from vegetables growers in the Wiregrass area within a 25 mile radius. People are still needing to eat and they want fresh produce and our farmers are providing that its an essential service and that’s our food supply for the Wiregrass area,” Farmers Director Jimmy Jones said.
If your nearby farmers market is not open yet, there are a few set to start on Saturday. Ashford’s farmers market will take place at the train depot from 7-11 a.m.
Heading out to western Coffee County, the tent is all ready to go for Elba’s first day. Their farmers market will kick off at 8 a.m. til noon.
